About
My name is Avery. I'm a combo special graphic designer / writer / anthropologist originally from Nashville, now living in DC. I thrive when tasked with making complex topics approachable. My undergraduate work was in cultural anthropology, so I find great joy in extensive research, interpreting data, and distilling it down into accessible language. I'm a studio artist with a master's degree in graphic design, which helps me visually communicate those complex topics. My current work is in experiential graphic design and content development, where I get to employ everything listed above in service of meaningful, inclusive visitor experiences. When I'm not working, I'm probably perusing Craigslist for funky furniture, reading '90s fantasy novels, or researching ways to keep my plants alive. I hope you enjoy my work, and feel free to contact me.
