GROW 3D Typographic Installation
TASK: Concept and craft a 3-dimensional typographic installation
2018
Our group of five was tasked with creating an installation focused on taking typography from 2D to 3D. The implementation had to reflect the chosen type in some way, be non-destructive to the concrete walls, and materials had to come in under fifty dollars. We chose "GROW" since this hallway is a highly traveled hallway in an academic building at MICA. The letters were cut from paper, filled with items that would have been thrown away, then covered and held to the wall with green painter's tape. We molded the tape to look like vines growing out from the word GROW to literally play on the idea of growth.
